Jackie a Scholar! (But we all knew that, didn't we?)

Jackie has been invited to attend a summer program for young scholars after her teacher nominated her.  The program offers a course in CSI (where she will get to analyze blood samples, search for DNA, and solve the crime), Engineering (designing, building, and marketing a protocol toy car), and Medicine (she will learn about systems of the human body and diagnose and treat a patient).  Of course little Miss Likes-to-Learn could not decide which of the three she was most interested in, so she has selected the program that will allow her to do all three and focus on building her leadership skills.

I'd like to see her go, but it's costs almost $2,000!  We are going to try to do some fundraising here locally, perhaps selling some 50/50 raffle tickets.  However, I'm setting up this blog so anyone can make a donation of any amount to help her attend.

I am aware there are services out there that allow you to set up a page and collect donations, but they charge fees.  By the time we receive the donations, almost 10% will be deducted through fees!   I know PayPal charges, but I'd much rather pay 3% than 10%!
